Student Code of Conduct

The Student Code of Conduct outlines the expectations and responsibilities that guide behaviour at Sunnybank State Special School. It clearly explains how staff support students to understand and meet the school’s behaviour expectations, and provides guidance on the application of disciplinary consequences when required.

Student Code of Conduct 2024-2027

Sunnybank Special School is a Positive Behaviour for Learning school  (PBL).

  • Positive Behaviour for Learning is an evidence-based framework for establishing the social culture needed for schools to be effective learning environments for all students.

  • Positive Behaviour for Learning ensures that all students have the social and emotional skills needed to succeed in school and beyond.

  • Positive Behaviour for Learning assists schools to teach students expected social behaviours. 

  • Positive Behaviour for Learning applies data-based decision-making to discipline, academics and social and emotional learning.

The Sunnybank Special School Responsible Behaviour Plan (PDF 389 KB) is an approved behaviour plan for the school. This plan is reviewed each year.

It articulates a range of responses including whole school, targeted and intensive behaviour support as a means of facilitating positive learning and responsible behaviour in students.
